If you love working with startups, scale ups and SMEs and you’re as happy crafting bespoke web dev solutions, as you are debugging a PHP issue or writing tests then read on.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a talented PHP developer who’s experienced working with Laravel – we could say full stack but the reality is a slant towards backend. You’re someone who wants to be a significant part of a small, collaborative team that loves working together to build incredible products for clients.
You write great code. You’ll have experience of backend development and will be able to impress us with the things you have already worked on. We also want to hear your ideas for the future.
You’re enthusiastic about tech and love keeping up with the latest trends. You’re keen to learn new languages and frameworks if the need arises and you aren’t afraid of jumping into the deep end to get things done.
What will the role involve?
You will be working with Laravel on a daily basis. You will help to develop ideas, design database schema and help estimate and plan out projects with clients. You will work with a TDD mindset.
We maintain a lot of applications that we have developed, so it’s very important to us that we maintain a high quality of code. This means testing, linting and static analysis. You will learn to love PHPStan, we promise. 😉
A fresh pair of eyes is always welcome and we know our systems can always be improved, so we’d love to hear your ideas for better ways of working. We work together as a team to continuously improve processes for everyone.
We’re always trying out new technologies to see how they fit with our style, and incorporating them to make applications we build better so keeping abreast of new things happening in the PHP community is key.
We like to get involved in the local community and want someone who’s keen to join in on those activities. We set aside time each month to work on these internal projects and tools, such as https://brumtechtapas.co.uk. We have a stack of ideas we want to develop and we want to hear yours too
The role is remote-based but you will need to be in the UK, as we visit some of our clients occasionally. Once the world returns back to some form of normality, there might be the odd occasion when you need to come into the office for in-person working sessions or a good old-fashioned team get together.
