Awe-der has been around for a while now, even though it seems like only yesterday that I was writing a post announcing that the platform had launched, maybe it’s because we are all starting to go a little stir crazy from being at home so much, but one thing i do know is that since launch, Awe-der has helped businesses from all over the country remain open and to take online orders, this platform will continue to evolve and support these merchants once the lockdown restrictions are lifted.
That being said, one thing we knew that we wanted to be part of the Awe-der platform was payments, I am now pleased to announce that it is fully integrated. Adding payments into Awe-der means that it is now a one-stop platform from start to finish not only for the merchant but the customer too.
We had planned to get this out sooner, but because this was going to be such a big part of the platform, and with us being busier than ever despite everything that’s going on, it took us a little longer than expected, ensuring that it was fully up and running. But with that being said we really feel that this will help move Awe-der into the hands of more merchants and help them too.
The journey upon signup will remain the same, four quick and easy steps and you are there, following on from this you would be asked to sign up for Stripe, this is the online payments gateway we decided to go with. We chose Stripe because of the relative ease for onboarding new merchants, as well as this we’d used this platform a number of times and were well experienced with the API. Another big draw for us was being able to hold payments for the merchant and only actual charge the customer once the order is completed. We integrated using the Stripe Connect Platform allowing us to easily onboard merchants with OAuth meaning its a much more secure platform.
Once you have signed up to Stripe you are ready too take payments through Awe-der.
As we said from day one, Awe-der is and will continue to be an ever evolving platform, with us constantly receiving feedback, generating ideas and looking to make improvements to the platform as and when needed. Our next big step on this journey is going to be making Awe-der Open Source, we will have a little bit more on this in the near future so watch this space.
