Technical Lead.
We’re in the middle of an exciting growth period and the opportunity has arisen for a brand new role within the team. We are actively seeking a bright, talented Technical Lead to join our team.
The Role.
Who are we looking for
We’re on the look out for a hands-on person with an interest in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be working directly with the co-founders and the development team and the role will encompass some development, architecture and management duties. You must be well-versed in all things PHP and Laravel, have a good understanding and demonstrable experience of best practices around TDD and CI/CD. Most of all, you will have an aptitude for and willingness to learn.
The role will give you an opportunity to work as part of a collaborative Laravel studio team, who deliver stunning projects for startups and large enterprises alike. We are an exciting, cutting edge company who can offer you the chance to work on a diverse range of projects from bespoke web applications to highly complex products.
What will the role involve?
As the technical lead you will have oversight of all the current projects and be available to help advise and guide the development teams throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with the project managers and developers to see projects through to sign off and to help identify how we can improve our current work processes. We believe we’re doing a lot of things right but we also know that there is always room for improvement, so we work together as a team to continuously improve processes for everyone.
You will be involved with the whole project lifecycle from initial client meetings to writing project specifications and taking part in discovery phases of work. You will translate the findings to technical documentation that the development team can use to develop applications.
You will be responsible for solution architecture, the management and leadership of the development team and engaging with non-technical people on the client-side to ensure the products we build are aligned with business objectives.
We like to get involved in the local community and want someone who’s keen to join in on those activities. We set aside time each month to work on these internal projects and tools, such as https://brumtechtapas.co.uk . We have a stack of ideas we want to develop and we want to work on yours too.
The role is remote-based but you will need to be in the UK, as we visit some of our clients occasionally. As the world returns back to some form of normality, there might be the odd occasion when you need to come into our central Birmingham office for in-person working sessions or a good old-fashioned team get together.
