Ambitious idea to accessible excellence
How we helped a global disability inclusion charity build their vision within budget and on time.
The challenge
The Valuable 500 had a clear vision but were stuck with an inadequate solution. As a global charity working with over 500 companies to drive disability inclusion, they'd developed the logic for ART (Authentic Representation Tool) - designed to help organisations improve disability representation in advertising, branding, and communications.
The problem? They were running this sophisticated assessment through offline processes and generic surveys. The tool they envisioned needed to be custom, intuitive, accessible, and secure - everything their current approach wasn't.Other agencies had quoted, but costs were prohibitive. They were caught between ambitious vision and practical constraints. They needed someone who could deliver what they needed without unnecessary extras.
The approach
We turned their ambitious idea into reality by working within constraints rather than against them. Starting with their budget, we designed a viable scope focused on core objectives and maximum impact.
We built efficiency into everything. Laravel let us work quickly whilst maintaining flexibility for something bespoke. We used the same team for design and development - eliminating waste and miscommunication from retrofitting designs to technical constraints.
Most importantly, we embedded accessibility from day one. Working directly with their experts, we ensured the tool met the highest standards - not as an afterthought, but as fundamental.
What we did
-
01
Defined a scope that maximised impact within budget, focusing on features that truly mattered.
-
02
Used the same team to design and build, working quickly without compromising quality or accessibility.
-
03
Embedded accessibility from the start, working with their experts to ensure best-in-class standards.
-
04
Prototyped complex areas first, allowing early review and feedback before their July 2025 deadline.
-
Technical stack
- Laravel
- Vue.js
- Tailwind
- Filament
The impact
We turned ambitious idea into accessible excellence. The ART tool launched July 2025 - on time, on budget, meeting the highest accessibility standards. Everything they'd envisioned, now real.
Companies worldwide now use the tool to improve disability representation. Vision became measurable change affecting real lives.
Beyond the project, something deeper emerged. They'd found a partner who made their budget work for their mission, not against it. An ongoing partnership formed - one we're genuinely proud of.
What they say
They made a complex build feel simple, asked the smart questions early, and stayed close throughout. We're really proud of what we ended up with.
Work that speaks for itself.
